OUR  MISSION

When it might be time to call STAYING PUT

  • I’m feeling lonely and isolated; a visitor would be nice once in a while.
  • I need support connecting socially in the community; I don’t know where to start.
  • I’ve considered volunteering, but I don’t know what the needs are, or what I’d be capable of doing.
  • I no longer have the ability to drive, and could use a ride downtown or to church, or to the food pantry.
  • I can still drive in town, but it’s more difficult to get around on my own … I am less sure of my footing, my balance, etc.  An escort would enable me to still participate in the things that have always brought me joy.
  • My eyesight is failing, I can’t read anymore. I’d love to have somebody come and read to me.
  • We could use some help around the house, with meal prep, vacuuming making the bed, and things like that.
  • I’d be happy to hire help for housecleaning, some yard and property work … but I have no idea who to call.
  • Things are changing, it’s more difficult to care for ourselves at home, there is consideration of assisted living. We are unsure of our options. We aren’t familiar with support resources that might allow us to remain home.
  • My Mom and Dad really need help in their home, but don’t want to ask for it. The family has tried, but could use support in convincing them to accept help.
  • I could use assistance navigating the confusing network of county, government, and various agencies that offer assistance.
  • Really, sometimes I could just use a friend, somebody to talk to

Heartfelt thanks to these meal- delivering volunteers Tues, Wed.Thurs. and Friday every week/2 routes. Also thankful for the Pierce County/ADRC-sponsored meals on wheels program, and the Sneakers/SV staff that prepares & packs them. What a difference you make in our community.
And don't want to forget --- thank you Diane Huebel for the hand-crafted decorative masks that several us are wearing!
